About Patrick Vestal
Patrick has been doing youth ministry since 2013. He leads the youth and college groups at Wood Village Baptist Church. He graduated from Multnomah University, where he studied Bible and Theology and Youth Ministry. While studying, he fell in love with the scriptures. So, after graduation, he stayed at the school, grading and lab instructing for Ray Lubeck for 7 more years to help others have that same experience.
He loves stories- both for studying and enjoyment- and has a goal of reading through the entire Chronicles of Narnia series twice every year. His favorite volume is The Horse and His Boy, particularly the conversation between Shasta and Aslan toward the end of the book, where Aslan says, “I was the lion who forced you to join with Aravis. I was the cat who comforted you among the houses of the dead. I was the lion who drove the jackals from you while you slept. I was the lion who gave the horses the new strength of fear for the last mile so that you should reach King Lune in time. And I was the lion you do not remember who pushed the boat in which you lay, a child near death, so that it came to shore where a man sat, wakeful at midnight, to receive you.” The way C.S. Lewis imagines God’s care-filled, yet determined self-revelation is captivating.
Patrick and his wife, Katelyn, have two young sons and a baby girl. They enjoy hiking and camping as a family- particularly on the Oregon coast and Mt Hood. Patrick also loves to cook good food!
